Steve has over 20 years experience in advising directors and their financiers on corporate restructuring and raising finance. He joined MCR in 2008 and is the Head of the MCR Manchester office's Business Consulting and Tax Arrears Solutions divisions.

The MCR Business Consulting team provides business advice to developing and underperforming companies and their stakeholders on operational and financial restructuring. The MCR Tax Arrears Solutions division comprises a highly experienced team, with a strong reputation amongst directors and their stakeholders alike, for negotiating commercial payment plans with HM Revenue & Customs for those companies with tax arrears. These arrangements have proved to be a valuable element in helping to save many businesses. He gained valuable banking experience during a twelve month secondment to the regional credit risk function of a major UK clearing bank.

Steve is highly regarded for his hands-on approach in providing asset based lenders and banks with focused strategic business reviews, crisis management involving cash and accounting control, negotiating time to pay arrangements with key creditors including HM Revenue & Customs, raising finance and implementing change. He is also skilled at undertaking structured work-outs and refinancing, where asset based lenders in particular have sought an exit.

Steve possesses skills across a wide cross section of industries and has strong expertise in temporary recruitment, support services, printing, transport, construction and manufacturing. Steve is a Chartered Accountant and a licensed UK Insolvency Practitioner. He has also co-chaired the Society of Turnaround Professional's training workshops in the North West.
